On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the School Union and the Party Committee's Propaganda Department organized a film screening activity titled Wild Love among the faculty members. In response to this initiative, our school branch organized voluntary movie screenings for faculty and staff on September 8th and 22nd at Wanda Cinema (Kaiyuan Branch，Xi Shao Men) and Oscar International Cinema (Central Square Store, Chang'an District).
Wild Love is a domestically produced film released on August 30, 2023. Set in the early 1980s, the advent of market economy, the film tells about how a couple from a supply and marketing cooperative in the Wei River Basin find redemption in each other and discover the meaning of life. The film is performed in both Standard Mandarin and Shaanxi dialect.
After watching the movie, the teachers shared their reflections. They expressed that the film, revolving around the changes in the supply and marketing cooperative from small-scale transactions to online sales, embodies the spirit of female empowerment through the protagonist's perseverance in utilizing her paper-cutting skills. It also celebrates the spirit of innovation and responsibility. Some teachers were deeply moved by the emotional journey of the main characters and their resilience in facing adversity. Others appreciated the realistic portrayal of rural life and found the use of Shaanxi dialect intriguing, which provided them with a window to understand rural life.
The teachers cherished the movie-watching experience and took commemorative photos at the cinema.
