Prof. Dai Weidong Employed as Visiting Professor

On May 12th, the employment ceremony of visiting professor Dai Weidong is held in south campus of Northwest University. President Qiao Xueguang is present and awarded the agreement of employment. This ceremony is chaired by the Dean of Foreign Language College Prof. Cui Yaping.

 

On the ceremony, Prof. Dai Weidong says he is pleased to be a visiting professor in NWU which has a solid ground work and a long history in foreign language teaching. He promises to do his best in every aspect like teaching, research and reform as a member of NWU.

 

President expresses his gratitude on behalf of NWU to Prof. Dai for his sincere support to NWU. He emphasized the importance of foreign language teaching in NWU which is irreplaceable. Foreign Language College should not only offer a good performance on teaching as required, but also in scientific research and absorbing talents. He expresses his expectation that Prof. Dai will definitely make our foreign language departments better with his insightful advice.

 

The director of president office Lei Zhongpeng, head of personnel division Linghu Peixuan, and officials, teachers and students of Foreign Language College are present on the ceremony.

 

After the ceremony, Prof. Dai Weidong presents an academic report titled “Grasp the Opportunity to Enhance the Development of Foreign Language Departments.”

 

Brief Introduction of Prof. Dai Weidong:

Dai Weidong, professor and doctoral supervisor in Shanghai International Studies University, is the convener of Foreign Language Subjects Appraisal Group of academic degrees committee of State Council, chairman of Foreign Language Subjects Teaching Guiding Committee of Ministry of Education, the convener of language and literature division of Ministry of Education, member of cultural and social sciences awards committee of Ministry of Education, the convener of foreign language subjects appraisal group of post-doctoral research stations of Ministry of Personnel, judge of National Social Sciences Fund, vice-chairman of Translators Association of China, vice-chairman of Shanghai Literature and Arts Association. He was the secretary of the Party committee (1995-2004) and the president (1990-2005) of SHISU.
