Students' Activities

On 23th and 24th, April, the third NPUEDL was held in Xi’an  Electronics Science and Technology University. Our students guided by our teacher Xuan Jing and our graduates Zhang Zhaohui, Liu Liu and Wan Ding had gained glorious results：After 6 contests, the group NWU6 made by Gao Tian ﹙English major in grade 09﹚and Tan Jiahui ﹙TCFL  in grade 08﹚ became the overall winners；the  group NWU1 made by Gao Yi﹙English Major in grade 10﹚ and Yang Mu﹙Majors in  Laws in grade 08﹚, the group NWU9 made by Li Zhuo Wei﹙English major in grade 09﹚ and Fu Xingyuan﹙majors in Finance in grade 08﹚, the group NWU7 made by Wang Nina and Fei Qianqian﹙both English Majors in grade 08﹚, the group NWU8 made by Song Yaochen﹙the Chinese Linguistic and Literature Major in grade 10﹚and Zhang Su﹙the Geology Information Major in grade 08﹚,the groups mentioned above took all the first prizes of the contest；English major Qu Shanshan in grade 08 and Xu Ye ,also English major in 09 won the second prize；Emglish majors Gao Yuan and Zhang Ruixin in grade 07 won the third prize；Gao Tian, Gao Yi and Yang Mu were entittled as the Best Debators.

With 68 groups from 15 colleges in northwest China attending, the contest adopted the systerm of International British parliament. In every match, there were four groups competing fiercely. By their capacity and their   strong will, our 11groups made by 22 students had achieved so great achievements.

Our debate group has a long history, the present one was formed in Sep. 2010, with experienced teachers and graduates as its guides. The members are students from the foreign languages department, the literate department, the economy management department, the laws department and the city and environment department, etc. The group had won series prizes such as the Special prize, the third prize in the National English Speech Contest, the first prize and the second prize in the Northwest Colleges United Contest, the second prize in Xi’an’s 14 colleges English Speech Contest, and so on.
